Igniting the fire: Georgie’s first steps in the world of PR
Creating opportunities and pathways to careers within our industry is a core part of what we do. Whether that’s through developing our team of Pearls or providing work experience for those who are keen to start their PR and comms careers.
This August we’ve been showing the ropes to our intern, Georgie, and getting her involved in all things Pearl Comms – including the daily ins and outs of client work to participating in meetings and selling in the next big story.
Georgie slotted right into the team and has worked with all of our experts as we introduced her to t everything PR and comms that we do. From content writing, liaising with the media, social media and design/creative work, she was also brought up to speed on how to leverage the news agenda to get great client results. We even celebrated her 21st birthday!

The internship in her own words…
“When I started, the world of PR felt like a foreign language, with acronyms to decipher and new software to learn. But with guidance from the team, I quickly got the hang of it.
“The team helped me get involved with all the different stages of the comms process, equipping me with skills I will carry into my career after university.
“I’ve felt so welcomed and my knowledge of PR has grown beyond my expectations. I am very thankful for the month I spent at Pearl Comms; for the friends I’ve made and everything I’ve learned!”
