Hiking for a great cause: highlights from the 15th annual Prologis 100

This month, we laced up our walking boots and took part in the 15th annual Prologis 100 to support three fantastic charities.

A key date in the Prologis UK calendar, the day is made up of a range of physically challenging events, including a 100 mile and 100 kilometre bike ride and, new this year, a 100 furlong hike: the event of choice for our team of Pearls. As this year’s joint main sponsor, it was a particularly special occasion for us to support our client and give back to our community.

Undeterred by the forecasted rain, 50 members of the Prologis UK team, close partners and four eager Pearls gathered in the Oxfordshire countryside to hike 100 furlongs – or 12.5 miles – through green fields, quaint villages and working farms.

The walk was a welcome change from the hectic daily pace of our Birmingham city centre HQ and gave the team a chance to step away from their screens, connect with our Prologis counterparts and reflect on the importance of the causes we were supporting.

Despite the unpredictable weather – with some welcome bursts of sunshine and dreaded patches of rain – spirits remained high and the team stayed focused on the goal of raising vital funds for charity.

But the day didn’t end at the finish line, with a raffle, auction and fun celebrations quickly following, with prizes from sponsors including a coveted pair of tickets to Twickenham stadium and one of our very own Pearls winning an overnight stay at a 4-star hotel.

Then it was time for the all-important fundraising results. Over £50,000 was raised to support LandAid, who are ending youth homeless in the UK, Molly Olly’s, who support children with life-threatening illnesses and their families, and Vasculitis UK, who support those affected by vasculitis disease.

As joint main sponsor, Pearl Comms was proud to play a key role in the event, and we’re already starting our training for next year!
